Choosing between art school and business studies was the decision in my youth. I chose business school, immersing myself in the world of marketing and marketing communications. Post-graduation, I worked in marketing and sales. There was always a magnetic pull towards the digital design aspects of my work, leading me to invest more and more time into figuring out how to make digital communications more compelling.
For me, it was never just about aesthetics or the fascination of technology. The unraveling of the "whys" behind the customers' and users' behavior was always a profound curiosity for me. How could design influence actions? How could design improve people's lives? This curiosity has always been at the center of my professional existence.
I had an opportunity later in life to delve into the aspect of my job that intrigued me the most: I studied web development, web design, and graphic design. For over 12 years now, I've dedicated my professional life to creating diverse digital experiences and understanding the human behaviors around designs and design decisions.
In my work, I believe in the importance of both qualitative and quantitative research, utilizing analytics data to inform design and strategy decisions. What sets me apart is the ability to not just design aesthetically pleasing interfaces but to understand the pulse of businesses. This wider perspective allows me to create experiences that not only captivate users but also align with business goals.
I'm a strong advocate of Design Thinking. In the light of AI taking over some of the design and technical aspects of UX and UI design, I think it's more important than ever. It's a mindset that I'd like to call my own: Embracing empathy, curiosity, and collaboration.
